Can you match a key for an old mortise lock?

Usually, yes. We cut all types of keys, including older mortise and specialty profiles that chain stores turn away. Bring the key if you have one. If it is worn down and copies keep sticking, bring the cylinder and we will cut a fresh key from the lock itself.

Do you rekey after a roommate moves out?

That is one of our most common jobs on the Upper West Side. Rekeying keeps your existing lock and changes which key opens it, so old copies stop working. Drop the cylinder at the counter, or we come to the apartment and do it at the door.

How fast can you reach a lockout on the UWS?

We dispatch 24/7 for emergency lockouts. Call and we will tell you honestly when a licensed locksmith can be at your door. Being a few blocks away on Broadway helps, though traffic and the hour make a difference.

Do you install locks in co-ops with board rules?

Yes. Plenty of pre-war buildings around here specify what hardware is allowed on an apartment door. Send us the managing agent's requirements and we will install to that spec, from a basic deadbolt through a high-security cylinder.

Do you handle building master keys?

We do master key work for residential buildings and commercial spaces, including high-security systems. Tell us who needs to open what, and bring written authorization from the owner or managing agent before we cut anything.
